As of next Tuesday the 6/5/14, I’ll be commencing a fortnightly residency over at The Hive Bar in Erskineville. This’ll have me playing a heap of my original stuff, both old and new, and a tasteful assortment of covers from folk, blues, country and traditional styles.
The Hive Bar has a fantastic assortment of tasty beers on tap and cheap pizzas every Tuesday (the night that I’m there!).
If you live in/near the area, please stop on by. And if you can, share this event with anyone who might be interested.
There are also a bunch of extra shows that I’ve listed up in the column to the right and the Gigs page. Check it out if you’re interested.
A couple of days ago when one of my acoustic strings broke, I felt it a perfect opportunity to record a video lesson on how to change strings on a Steel String Acoustic Guitar. I was going make a post with extra written information to accompany the video, however it ended up being so long and in-depth that I don’t think one is necessary anymore.
Here’s the video lesson. Enjoy:
Also, let me provide y’all with a quick update on the album recording process. Over the past couple of months, I’ve been lucky enough to have the following players come in and add to my album:
– Jason Walker with some Pedal Steel
– Zane Banks for Banjo
– Alison Avron (Click for her website. She also runs the wonderful underground Sydney venue; The Newsagency), come in to sing a on a duet a few BV’s
– Matt James for a bit of Electric Bass
All sessions have come out really great. I did some further mixing with POG just last night, and some of the tracks are sounding ridiculously good. I’m really happy with how this project is moving along.
Pic’s from these occasions can be found in my Galleries Page or below in a slideshow!
As you can see to the right of this page, I have also posted up several new gigs that I’ve booked in. Highlights from these include the UNSW Roundhouse with full band next Thursday from 4pm, and a couple of foot-stomping sets at the Wild Rover on the 6th of April (next Sunday). Be sure to keep an eye out as I lock more dates in.

Just a quick post with this one. I started editing and uploading some live videos that were recorded at the Marrickville Newsagency earlier this month but gave up due to poor sound quality from a swivelling fan in the room. Even still, the first three songs are there and I’ve compiled them as a playlist for anyone keen on having a watch/listen.
Here’s the link:
I’ve also decided to start adding all of my cover gigs to the gig page. While giving me a chance to populate that section with tonnes of information, it’ll also give anyone who is keen on seeing me in cover mode a chance to check it out.
That’s all from me for now.
