Sam Newton writes songs that exist in the space between a shaky breath and a steady hand. Based in Sydney, his music carries the raw intimacy of Adrianne Lenker and the narrative weight of Paul Kelly. The writing is honest and the melodies stick.
He draws on Neil Young’s restlessness and Dylan’s way with words, but the songs are his own. Four studio albums and a string of singles spanning a decade of writing, collected most recently on his 2025 EP This Is Where I Want To Be.
