::: Paul Kelly - They Thought I Was Asleep cover :::
There wouldn't be too many who would disagree when I suggest that Paul Kelly might be the greatest (and most prolific) Australian songwriter that we're yet to see. The size and quality of his body of work speaks for itself.

They Thought I Was Asleep isn't his most famous song but I think that it might be my favourite. There is something incredibly haunting about it. It cuts me with a deep kind of sadness. I don't know why, but I want everything to turn out alright for the young narrator. To me, this indicates something incredibly special about the song.

I aimed to release this video midweek like usual, but I couldn't get it done. There was too much that I wanted to add and try out. I wanted to do this song justice through reinterpretation, rather than imitation. I'm happy with the way that it turned out. Let me know if you agree.
